Does a receding hairline mean I'm going bald?

OK so I'm receding a bit on my right side of my head, although I have really thick hair and my whole life everyone in my family told I would never have to worry about going bald. No men in my family have gone bold, so what I'm wondering did you or do you know any men who receded in their early 20s but never went bald. I have also been real stressed lately so maybe thats the problem. I would also like to know if I could lose my hair from the way I sleep because I always sleep on my right side and maybe thats way I'm losing some hair.
