Serving Divorce Papers in person?

I live in Texas and my wife and I have 2 kids and we dont live together. She says she is staying at this mutual friends house of ours. I pick the kids up every other weekend but i think she might just be there to exchange the kids and she lives somewhere else for the other time...What is the best way to serve her the divorce papers? can i do it myself?
