Are 2 12inch Alpine Type-R subwoofers too much for a Chevy Cobalt sedan?

Hi I'm looking to get 2 Alpine SWR-1223D subwoofers for my Cobalt, and they're gonna be run on a Hifonics Brutus 1700 watt amp. Do you think that is too loud for my car?
